The NETGEAR XS505M and XS508M switches feature multi-speed Copper Ethernet ports that support Fast Ethernet, 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10G connections. Additionally, each model includes a 1 SFP+ fiber port capable of 1G or 10G speeds.

Each port intelligently detects the speed required by the connected device and automatically adjusts to deliver optimal performance. Unlike traditional 10-Gigabit switches that default to 1-Gigabit for devices needing less than 10G, the XS505M and XS508M provide precisely the speed needed—no unnecessary downgrades.

Moreover, these switches support standard Cat5E Ethernet cables, eliminating the need to upgrade to Cat6 wiring. This helps reduce installation costs and simplifies setup.
