With five models available, the 3100 Series provides scalable performance options suitable for deployments at the network edge, within data centers, or across private cloud infrastructures. Each device in the series supports both ASA and Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) software, and can be configured for use as a firewall or a dedicated intrusion prevention system (IPS). Additionally, the 3100 Series supports Q-in-Q (stacked VLAN) configurations, allowing up to two 802.1Q headers per packet—ideal for complex network segmentation and monitoring.
