About The Product
The Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series, including the advanced Catalyst 9500X models, continues to lead the way in enterprise networking by delivering innovations that enhance connectivity, strengthen security, and elevate the user experience for organizations of all sizes in a hybrid work environment.

These switches, built on Cisco’s Unified Access™ Data Plane (UADP) ASIC, serve as the flagship fixed core and aggregation platform within the Catalyst 9000 family. Designed for the modern enterprise, they support a flexible, distributed workplace where users, devices, and applications are spread across various locations.

The Catalyst 9500X, powered by the Cisco Silicon One™ Q200 ASIC, is engineered for next-generation enterprise core networks. It features a programmable P4 pipeline and is the first enterprise switch silicon to deliver up to 25.6 Tbps of switching capacity. Thanks to its integrated High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), it achieves high performance without relying on external memory. With a powerful multi-core x86 CPU, the 9500X is purpose-built for secure, cloud-ready, and IoT-enabled environments.

As the first fixed enterprise switch to support 40, 100, 200, and 400 Gigabit Ethernet, the Catalyst 9500X offers exceptional scalability and deep buffering, making it ideal for demanding enterprise applications. Initial models include non-blocking QSFP28 and QSFP-DD ports for 100G and 400G connectivity, respectively.

The Catalyst 9500 Series supports a wide range of advanced features, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs with MPLS, Multicast VPN (MVPN), and NAT. It also enables Cisco Software-Defined Access with capabilities like host tracking, cross-domain connectivity, and VRF-aware LISP. With Cisco StackWise® Virtual technology, these switches offer robust network virtualization and high availability features such as in-service software upgrades, NSF/SSO, and redundant power and cooling systems. They are compatible with both Cisco DNA Center and Meraki cloud monitoring, giving organizations flexibility in network management.
