About Umbrella Data Loss Prevention Addon
Cisco Umbrella delivers unified Real Time (inline or in-band) DLP and SaaS API (out-of-band) DLP, which are known in combination as Multimode DLP. This provides visibility and control over sensitive data leaving your organization or being publicly exposed or shared with unwanted external audiences. Real Time DLP leverages the Cisco Umbrella Secure Web Gateway (SWG) proxy to analyze data in real-time in motion, whereas SaaS API DLP analyzes data at rest in the cloud, independent of a proxy.

This functionality is easy to deploy and simple to manage, providing many benefits over legacy or non-unified DLP solutions where the data in transit and data at rest are separately analyzed, managed, and reported.
