About This Product
The Catalyst 9200L-M is designed for modern enterprise networks that demand high performance and ease of management. It pairs robust switching capabilities with the intuitive Meraki dashboard, delivering a streamlined yet powerful access-layer solution. To support bandwidth-intensive applications and next-generation Wi-Fi access points, the platform offers multigigabit access ports, 80-Gbps stacking, and flexible uplink options—either four fixed 1G/10G uplinks or two fixed 25G uplinks. High availability is enhanced through rapid stack convergence, ensuring minimal disruption. The Catalyst 9200L-M also supports Adaptive Policy, using over-the-wire tagging to classify traffic into security groups for scalable segmentation. Fully managed through the Meraki dashboard, it provides a straightforward and effective approach to meeting demanding wired access requirements.
Adaptive Policy enables simplified, scalable security by segmenting traffic based on Security Groups rather than traditional IP-based rules. These groups are easily defined in the dashboard using intuitive, human-readable labels such as “IoT devices” or “Guest users.” Administrators then apply high-level policy intent—such as allowing or blocking communication—between groups, automatically enforcing segmentation across the network. This approach reduces complexity compared to legacy access control lists and allows security policies to remain consistent even as the network evolves, giving operators greater confidence in protecting their traffic.
